Hounslow House
The modern civic building—the current name for the former Civic Centre—echoes the novel's questions about records and public responsibility.

Westcourt & Osterley
Westcourt gives Kath Adrian a calm residential setting near Osterley Station. Stay on public paths and respect residents' privacy.
STOP 04
Duke's River Walk
Water, vegetation, roads and large infrastructure share the same view: the visual tension at the heart of Dark Waters.
STOP 05
Mogden public boundary
Observe only from lawful public viewpoints. The tour never requires access to operational land, entrances, equipment or security arrangements.

Isleworth Leisure Centre & Library
The combined leisure centre and library is a civic meeting place where health, learning and everyday public life share one address. Photograph only from public space.

Brentford Gauging Lock & waterside
A public towpath viewpoint links engineered water control to the environmental questions in the novel. Stay on public paths and follow current Canal & River Trust signs.
STOP 08
Old Isleworth riverside
The London Apprentice, All Saints' Church and the changing tide create the novel's strongest sense of place.
STOP 09
Mill Plat
The riverside street is associated with the setting called the Mill in the story; intimate in scale, layered in texture.
STOP 10
Town Wharf & boatyard
Finish among boats, mud, brick and tidal reflections, then choose a lawful, safe route back toward Isleworth Station.
